Hello and thanks for your interest,

It’s a 2006 Harley-Davidson Touring FLHTCUI in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures. No scratches or any kind of damage and it has a clear title. The bike has only 21,361 miles.
If you are interested in buying it, the price is $4900.00US. I sell the bike at this price because I cannot enjoy it due to my job(I work as a dealer on a cruise ship) and I’m a single woman and I have nobody close who can use it.
All documents, including owner’s manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the bike.
Also about payment I will use only eBay Purchase Protection program so we can both be protected. All that you will have to pay is the price of the bike.

I am looking forward to hear from you

Here’s the latest scam. Craigslist posting on
march 12, 2010, hawaii craigslist. 2006 Ford
F150, clear title, no accident, new chrome
everything, etc. Price – $4,500. Need to sell
ASAP. First person with cash will get this
truck. Oh and shipping will be taken care of
by him. Posting was removed later that
same day. Email – nick.b@companymilair.net
I emailed him, basically he says the truck is
located in Billings, MT, he’s stationed in the
military and being deployed to the Gulf of
Aden, truck needs to be sold by March 24.
Also says he can ship the truck thru military
cargo for free. He’s a member of the Ebay
Buyer’s Protection program, provided the
VIN number and mileage. He requested the
full name and shipping address for the
vehicle so Ebay can have the info.
I googled his email address – oh when he
responded back to me his email address
reads – nick.baldwin@companymilair.net
I found several vehicles he has listed all
over the country, all of the listings have
been removed. Anyway figured I would share
my story with everyone. Another too good
to be true story.

Message I received to a craigslist (Montana) listing for a 2003 Accord EX Sedan -I wrote her telling her I was also in Canada, and could come and look at the car – she never answered back, figure it’s a scam for sure!!

Hi,
I see that you are interested in purchasing my car: 2003 Honda Accord EX Sedan
You must know that the car is in showroom condition, always garaged, it has never been involved in any accident and has neither scratches nor rust. The engine runs perfect and the interior is immaculate since nobody has ever smoked in the car. There are no further investments required. The title is clear and there are no loans on it. I have all the legal documents by which I can transfer the title to your name.I`m a single mother with 2 children because I divorced my husband. After the divorce I got this car but I don`t need it and that`s why i`m selling it so cheap. The total price is $3,500 including shipping and handling. The sale will be through eBay’s Protection Program for our safety. I have recently move to Canada after the divorce and I took the car with me, that is why i am sending it from here.I just need your full name, address and phone number so i can open a case. After ebay will contact you with the rest of the details. If you agree let me know a.s.a.p.

Hey everyone! I contacted a person through email about a 98′ acura integra for sale. It was priced at 3875 on Auto Trader.com. Being a single mother, trying to make ends meet I only had so much to offer for any vehicle. I offered the seller 3000 maybe even 3200. Well, she emailed me back and well I’ll just copy and paste the rest of the emails.

Hi,
Thanks for being interested in buying my car 1998 Acura Integra GSR. It is in a good condition, no scratches, no damages, never been implicated in any accidents, no problems at the engine, runs very well. It has an 1.8L 4 cyl engine, 120k miles, clear title, a perfect car. The price is $3,875.00 but I can accept $3,200. The only thing because i am selling it, because i divorced with my husband and after the divorce i own this car, now as a woman i don`t need it anymore …

I know that this is a low price for such a good car, but I need to pay some debts at the bank and I decided to sell my car. I hope that you will agree with my price and there will not be any argues regarding my price. I would like to complete this transaction asap, cause I need to pay the debts at the bank and I don’t have so much time at my disposal. If you have any other questions, please reply me.

Regards,
Jennifer Tusa

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks so much for getting back with me so soon. Yes, I made a quick call and was able to get the extra 200.00. So… if you are still ok with the 3200.00…I would love to meet with you today if thats possible (with cash in hand) to due the exchange…Hopefully you know a notary place around here…I just moved here last year and well I work so much and then of course am busy with the kiddos don’t have much time to explore the area. You can either email me back or call me at: 225-xxx-xxx. Look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks again,

(I’ll just leave my name blank)

hi,

I had some discussions with eBay and they told me that they can help me and you to finalize this transaction fast and safe. I want to tell you that we will use eBay in this transaction in order for both of us to be 100% protected and insured by them. eBay will supervise this transaction so there won`t be any problems. They will take care of the shipping and all the small details. You will get the car and you will have 5 days of inspection in which you can decide if you buy the car or not. If you won`t like my car (not your case) you notify eBay and you send the car back on my cost,if you want to keep it you announce eBay to send me the money (payment method and all the details will be set up by eBay) and you keep the car.

eBay will send you an invoice at your email in which you will see how to start this transaction and in which you can see that this transaction is legit. Please get back to me with your full name and full address so i can forward your details to eBay in order for you to receive the invoice.

Wait your reply,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I’m sorry but I don’t feel comfortable with that situation. I’m by no means a scammer nor am I a bad person. I have the cash in hand….no bank account sorry so I would not be able to do that transaction even if I wanted to…. I only feel comfortable meeting with you in person in a public place….say at a notary place, considering we would both have to be present there with a witness in order for you to sign the title over to me. So… if you are willing to due the proper exchange in person email me back or call me….I’m sorry but theres no other way for me.

Thank you,
(my name)

Hi,

I’m a flight attendant at American Airlines and because I’m away most of the time I will not be able to deal in person. Before leaving I had pre-arranged the deal with Ebay so my presence is not necessary. The car is in their possession ready to be delivered. Ebay will handle this transaction for me. The car is insured in case of damage and it takes 7 days to be delivered at your door. It will come with all the necessary paperwork (clear title, bill of sale, user’s manual, insurance etc). You will receive all the original documents and keys with the car. I signed all the paperwork and the clear title is ready to be transferred to the new owner.

If you are interested to buy my car, please send me your full name, shipping address and phone number so I can register the transaction with Ebay. Ebay will reply you with more details and information about this transaction.

Thank you,
Jennifer

Soooo…. Then I proceeded to send her the last following reply…do you mind the scammer never responsed on that note!! hmmmm….

Sorry…no can do! How dare you try to take advantage of hard workin American citizens! THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE A SCAMMER!!!!!! AND YOU HAVE BEEN REPORTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the morale of the story people is…. if they ask for your information in order to start the process… DO NOT BUY! if you give them your # to call you more than once yet they still rather email you… DO NOT BUY! And finally if for crying out loud… if they can not, will not and refuse to meet with you in person in a public place to get the necessary paperwork… UMMMM HELLO PPL… DO NOT BUY!!!!!! Watch out for these a**holes! One by one they will be takin down!!!!!!

This sounds very much like a tactic used by unscrupulous sellers to defraud unwary buyers. Here’s how the scam works-sellers on these sites pretend to be eBay representatives or sellers. They promise buyers that the vehicles will be covered by and paid through eBay’s Vehicle Protection Program or eBay’s Escrow services, or held in an “eBay shipping center” even though they’re not being sold on eBay. This isn’t true, and we encourage you to be very cautious about these scams.”
7:36:50 PM Customer
then how would we have recieved e mails from ebay and an invoice number
7:36:54 PM AgentJerold
for you to verify from your end if it is a legitimate sale, you should have placed a bid on the item or bought it through Buy it Now on the eBay Motors site. Please check “my eBay”, then click on your “won” items. If the item does not appear on your “won” list , then there was no transaction that has transpired through eBay
7:37:37 PM Customer
then how would we have recieved e mails from ebay and an invoice number
7:38:50 PM AgentJerold
from the information you’ve provided above, I can tell you that this is actually a known method of scam which deceitful people used to make the transaction appear as if it’s through eBay. We have reported cases of schemes like this.
7:39:00 PM AgentJerold
We do not send invoices on eBay Motors transaction,
7:39:35 PM AgentJerold
the invoicing feature is not functional for eBay motors vehicles. Since vehicle transaction tend to be more complicated a simple invoice is not as useful. Please do not proceed with this deal.

I almost got scammed on this. The 2005 Acura with 86,000 miles in mint condition sounded too good to be true. Here’s what his letter said. He even included lots of pictures and a carfax. DON’T GET SCAMMED. IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS. I’m writing you regarding my Acura TL. The car is still for sale. My asking price for the car is $3500. The car is currently located in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a 2005 model loaded with everything including DVD Navigation, Wood Grain trim, Camel color leather interior and handsfree link & bluetooth telephone. The exterior is a rare Acura Abyss Blue Pearl. The car has AEM Polished Aluminum Cold Air Intake. Currently the car has 84,250 miles, it is very well maintained, it has just been completely serviced. The engine runs very good and the automatic transmission shifts perfectly. The tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 Tires that are nearly new. The beautiful wheels are 19″ Chrome Zenetti Duece. I’m selling the car because I don’t have time to enjoy it due to my job (i work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) plus that I have some financial problems and I need money very soon. I have to tell you that I’m currently at work and I left the car in Little Rock at the shipping company, it is already packed and waiting to be shipped anywhere. If you decide to purchase it, you will receive all the documents of the car (owner’s manuals, keys, clear title, bill of sale) in order to register it under your name. Regarding the payment, I will use only eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection program. If you are interested, this is how eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection program works:

1. You send me your full name, complete address (I need for shipping) and your phone number.
2. I open a transaction with eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection.
3. eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection will contact you with an invoice regarding our transaction.
4 You will send the payment to eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection and they will notify me to ship the vehicle to your location.
5. After you will inspect/drive the vehicle and decide to keep it, eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection will forward me the funds and the deal is done.

Basically, eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection will secure the funds until you will receive and inspect the car. You will have 5 days inspection period. If the vehicle is not like described, you will have to ship it back on my expense and they will give you a full refund. This way, you will be able to inspect the vehicle before committing to buy it and I know that you have the money and you aren’t just fooling around. I will wait your reply.

Thank you!
Patrick

I receieved an email this morning from a friend of mine who said she took a short trip out of the country (could be anywhere) and that her wallet and credit cards were stolen. That she went to the embassy and they put her up in a hotel until she could fly back home (the embassy was paying for her flight). She emailed me a phone number (supposedly to the hotel so I could wire her money that she would later pay me back once she got home.

Fortunately many of her friends called her to confirm this and she answered her phone and then started calling other friends and told them this was a hole scam.
She also called back the number provided by the scammer and found it was diconnected.

She had to then change her password on all of her emai accounts and her checking account number. Don’t send money.
