Another Craig’s List Scam from Sophie Evans

Here is another one in the Atlanta area.  Sophie Evans posted a 2003 Polaris Ranger with plow for $1800.  Typical story of  special circumstances and a proposal to pay via eBay’s Buyer Protection Program.  A convincing followup e-mail that looked like eBay’s Vehicle Purchase Program instructing a cash transfer to a “neutral” party in NYC and asking for confirmation of money transfer via fax.  Glad I checked before losing any money.  Name used was Sophie Evans, Billings, MT.  Note: email esponse below Craig’s List listing was already removed.

Very good condition, and it runs and drives great. The seats have no holes, cuts, or tears. The exterior is in good shape. There are no significant dents, and the paint shines all around. My husband was recently promoted so we had to move to Montana. Besides, there are a lot of things which have priority now, so this ranger has to go. As you probably noticed, the price is rather low $1,800. Due to the fact that I’m very busy with my work and I don’t staytoo much at home, the ranger is already at the shipping company and will be delivered with “express delivery”, shipping costs are included in the price. The transaction will be made under eBay’s buyer protection plan. This way we can receive assistance for the purchase, title transfer, etc. So, please reply back with your full name and shipping address if you are really interested in purchasing this ranger so we can start the arrangements!

She also sent me an email VPP form and everything thru Ebay (note) vehicles can only be purchased thru Ebay using this form. Buys beware!!!!
