Kubota Tractor Craigslist scam

I saw this on Craigslist the other day and sent an email. The following is what I got back. Looks an awful lot like other scams reported on this site to include the same very low price of $2970 and they deliver!! Yah right!! I won’t hold my breath! But I told them that I was a state trooper and probably scared them off!!

First, a few words about this KUBOTA BX22 4WD:
– the tractor is in perfect working condition, garage kept, with nothing mechanically wrong – like new!
– has only 500 hrs, commercial grade & strong 22 hp 3 cylinder kubota diesel 4×4 hydrostatic drive;
I bought this tractor just the way it is. The backhoe has always been attached to it. It does have the quick attach/detach system. LA 210 loader and BT600 Kubota backhoe. ROPS, grille, seat belt. 48″ bucket with lifting capacity of 750lbs. 71.3″ lift height. BT600 Kubota backhoe with 12″ bucket & teeth & 6′ digging depth. Mid & rear PTO. It was used for landscaping and planting trees.
If you decide to buy it, you’ll receive all the papers, owner manual, keys and a buy-sell contract already signed by me.
I have a low price ( $ 2,970 including delivery to your home address ) because I want to sell the tractor very quickly. My husband died 4 months ago and I along with my daughter decided to sell the house and we moved to my sister in Texas. Due to the fact I am very busy at work and don’t stay too much at home I can’t conclude this transaction personally. But I left everything prepared for the sale. The transaction will be made trough Google Checkout buyer protection. This way you can receive assistance for the purchase and delivery.
If you are really interested in purchasing the tractor please contact me asap.

Kind Regards,
Susan Bates

  1. Good thing I did a quick search and found this helpful site. BUYERS BEWARE. Would have very easy to get taken. … 4/14/2011 ….I responded to a CRAIGSLIST “For Sale” about “2008 Kubota BX2660 with Loader and 60 inch Mower Deck – $5200”. From “Adam Carter”. I noticed that most others post their exact city location next to the AD’s headline, on closer inspection this AD had NO city noted. Adam Carter’s email back to me is pasted below….(Not being an EBAY purchaser I quickly learned EBAY does NOT collect MONEY). Hope this helps someone else to BE CAREFUL.

    The tractor is in perfect condition. The attachments as well. It was always garage kept, it has always been professionally serviced, using only original parts and accessories. All the service records are available and they will be delivered with it.

    I live in Regina, SK, Canada, I’ve just moved and the tractor is here with me. It has clean title, cleared of any obligations or fees (no lien) and it is registered in US.

    I want to close this deal through eBay. It will be shipped from Regina and I’ll pay the delivery costs. It will arrive at your address in 5-7 days, then you’ll have 5 days for inspection. I’ll start the shipping process in the same day with the payment confirmation. eBay will keep the paid amount until you’ll receive, inspect and agree with the tractor. This is their policy regarding this type of transactions.

    Tell me if you are still interested and I will contact eBay regarding our transaction. In order to do that I need your contact details, full name and shipping address. They will send you all the details (delivery and payment information). “
