This scammer uses Craigslist and advertises item (in this case electronic drums) and accepts unreasonbly low offers (yet over $1000.00 then has an Invoice sent to you via false email address but professional looking. A quick call to uShip indicates this is a common scam and under no circumstances are funds ever “escrow”‘d for anyone for any purpose…thus revealing the scam. Notice the funds are instructed to be wired personally to someone in the UK…three different names mentioned in this transaction.
Here is his request following acceptance of offer amount on item he is purportedly selling:
Ok. I’ve contacted uShip for the transaction and I have done my part of deal and I have payed the shipping taxes and all the fees. uShip have sent to you the invoice so please check your email address and can you also verify the junk folder because they told me that they have some problems with the server and it`s possible to arrive in the junk folder. Please tell me if you have the invoice in your e-mail.
Please read the uShip invoice carefully. Now you must make the payment so we can close this deal. You will have to send the payment to the uShip Payment Agent and not directly to me. The funds will be hold in escrow until you receive and confirm the unit. Please let me know when do you go to Money Gram.
Thank you
