Hey,
I am selling this car because my unit will be sent back to Iraq and don’t want it getting old in my garage. The price is low because I need to sell it before July 19th. The car is in great condition and runs great. No damage, no scratches, never involved in an accident. It is still available for sale if interested, price as stated in the ad is US $2900 The car is in New Rockford, ND; in case it gets sold I will take care of shipping.
I will ship it with DAS. I will take care of the shipping charges, like I said. I think I can have it there in 3-4 working days. I am a member of the eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection and using this service you will get a 3 days testing period after delivery.
During that 3 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested in buying it so I can ask eBay to send you the details on how this works. If interested please include in your next email your contact info for eBay (name, address and #) so we can get things started.
Thanks!

second email (after i gave my info):

Hello,
I received your info and right now I will start a case with eBay Motors and they will contact you soon with further details about how this deal works.
After they will contact you, please email me and let me know if we have a deal.
Thanks!

I started a case with eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection.
Please email me and let me know if you received the invoice and if so, please email me and let me know if you will make the payment so I can start the shipping process and provide you the tracking number.
You need to receive 3 emails from ebay. Please check your SPAM or BULK folders because is it possible to receive the emails there.

Thanks!

fourth email (after i asked for phone number):

Hello,
I am very sorry but I can’t call you because I am at work and I can’t use the phone in personal purposes. I am in the army, you know… But if you have any questions you can email me and I will answer to all of your questions.
eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection is a reputable escrow service and they will manage this transaction in the best manner. You will be 100% protected. I will not have access to the money. eBay will keep the money till you will receive and inspect the car and they will release the funds to me only after they will have your confirmation that you are satisfied with the car.
More, I am a honest person, I have family and 2 children and I will not risk my freedom and my family freedom for your money.
So please let me know if you’ll make the payment today so i can start the shipping and let you know the tracking number.
Thanks!

now i am waiting on the last email, any advide on how to deal with this would be greatly appreciated, time is of the essence for receiving information because he says he wants to finish the “deal” by today.  thank you for your help.

I got a very similar Email from him as well. If you google his email address he is selling about six vehicles right now, a little much for a military man. Must have a pretty large garage for all these cars to be getting old in.
    STAY AWAY

I am actually in the same process in emailing this guy about this car and just decided to google it because the deal sounds too good to be true….I have all my emails from him also and when I ask for info like the item number on ebay he doesnt ask those questions for me instead talks about the vehicle protection and my shipping address…

His last email requesting my information was today 7.19.10 at 12:04pm pacific

Same thing with a lady from North Dakota that works on a cruise ship who is selling a 1999 Jeep Wrangler.. I’d rather miss out on a “good deal” then be taken for 2800.00.

After reading your correspondence with this guy, I suspect he’s the same one I’ve just dealt with off of Craigslis here in Canada…almost identical style of writing…he goes by Cody Wilson…wanted to urgently buy the motorcycle I’d listed…told me I’d need to arrange a Western Union money transfer of $300 for the DAS shipping company urgently…a fake series of emails from “pay pal” telling me Cody Wilson had deposited the amount for the bike plus $300 and that my funds would be released after I’d wired the money to Atlanta, Georgia. Called pay pal, no record of such a thing, reported it to their fraud department…I think this guy has shifted from “selling” and asking for you to pay the shipping to “buying” and asking the same thing. Busted.

I just had this same person try to scam me. I didnt send him my info though b/c I thought it was a scam. I havent let him know that I know its a scam but Im going to paste copies of his emails to me here so hopefully I can keep someone else from getting scammed. This really upsets me that he is saying he is in the Army too as my husband actually IS in the Army and its horrible to use this as a way to scam people. Also I did my research and there is no Army training base in New Rockford, ND.

Let me 1st explain you a little about this deal:

    - The title will be transfer (shipped) to you once with the car.
    - You will give me your full name, address and zip and I will forward them to Google, then Google will contact you to set up the transaction.
    - You will have to place a deposit to them.
    - Then the car will be shipped to you (in this period, the deposit sent by you will be on hold by them | I will not have access to them, until the car arrives to you | the car shipping will last about 3-4 days).
    - After the car arrives to you and gets tested and inspected and 100% sure you want to buy the car, you will notice about your decision Google to end this transaction.
    - If you decide NOT to buy my car, the car will be shipped back at no charge and you will be refunded.
I hope I made you understand.

    Thank you and best regards,

(EMAIL 3, this is when I asked if I could call him)
As I’ve told you at this moment I am in New Rockford, ND in a military base getting ready for Afghanistan. This means that I do a special training program and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or give calls whenever I want. The shipping can’t be a problem because I can do it at no cost for you. You will receive it along with all the documents including title, bill of sale, full service records and more …Because it is a large transaction we will complete the deal only by using an authorized third party like Google checkout, using their Business Purchase Protection Program. You will send the money to Google checkout and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship it, you will receive it and you will have 3 days for inspection. So, this is not a blind transaction, you can see it before decided to buy it.If you are satisfied with it and decide to keep it you inform Google about this and they will release the money to me. If you are still interested just send me your full name and shipping address. I will forward your info and they will notify you about our deal.

Hope to hear from you soon

    Thanks
