Craigslist Ebay VPP Car Scam
Warning about this seller sabrina.drake07@gmail.com trying to sell a 2003 Yukon Denali for $3600.00. This was posted 7-6-10 on craigslist. I have copied the emails she sent. Email #1 Thanks for being interested in buying my car. It is in a good condition, no scratches,no damages, never been implicated in any accidents,no problems at the engine, runs very well. It has an 8 Cylinder engine,64,569 miles, clear title, a perfect car. The price is not negotiable ,$3,600.00 firm. The only thing i am selling it is that i divorced with my husband and after the divorce i own this car,now as a woman i don`t need it(i don`t have driver license)…we will use only eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection to complete the sale. If you are interested and you have the funds available email me your full name and shipping address. After I asked if I could see the vehicle and was not willing to wire money on a vehicle unseen. Email #2 The car is located in Boise ID (i just moved here with my new job),like i told we will use eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection,so we can both be protected and insured.I just need your full name and full address so eBay can send you the invoice in which you`ll see how to make this transaction. The shipping is free i will take care of it and i will send the car with all the papers( vehicle registration, warranty papers, transfer papers etc ) i am just waiting your full name and address to complete the shipping papers and start the delivery process. Have not heard back after I told her she was a scammer.

I saw an ad on craiglists for a 2000 Yukon SLE for $1000 with 52k miles so I emailed the owener to find out what was wrong with it because the price was just too good to be true. Well she emailed me back(which I included below) and said she wanted to do the purchase through ebay’s vehicle protection program and they would contact me with all of the info. Well I later received what appeared to be a legitimate invoice from ebay until I saw Western Union at the bottom. I googled the address where they wanted me to send the money to and it was an apartment building in kentucky and the truck was supposedly in florida. The truck is really listed on ebay by a dealership and I immediately notified them of the scam. but the scammers name was Jane and John Anderson and the email address was JOHNANDERSONJA@msn.com
Hi,
The car has 52,385 miles, automatic trans. It’s in perfect condition,no electric/engine problems,no accidents/liens/loans.Exterior no scratches, never been repainted,Interior no rips/tears/stains,never smoked inside.I have all the car’s manuals,2 spare of keys, title, documents.I’m selling this car because my son of 21 years old died 6 months ago in his best friend’s car, his best best friend survived, thank god, they were hit by a drunk driver that went thru a red light . Now his GMC YUKON brings me only bad memories and I really can’t drive it anymore…hope you understand my pain in this moments. If you are really interested in buying the car please do take care of it as we and my son did because it’s a beautiful car and it would be ashamed not to…The last price is $1000.
Me and my husband travel a lot with our personal business and we want to make this deal through eBay’s Vehicle Purchase Protection Program.I just need your full name, full shipping address, home/cell # so I can open a case.(with no further obligation or fees).eBay will contact you with all the Transaction/shipping details you will need.We will take care of the shipping so don’t worry.
We hope to hear soon from you.
