Ebay Scam Again…
Hello everyone, I’m new here and I found a scam already! I almost fell for it until I ran a search on Ebay Vehicle Protechtion and found this site.
Here is the scam:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=p&car_id=267921961&dealer_id=64553831&reset_crumbs=y
Also, thanks to Carfax, I found the scammer easy. He had the Autotrader.com listing for a BMW 645ci in Michigan with 35,410 miles on it, he provided me the VIN# and it had the car with 14 miles on it registered in California, for a 2005 BMW 645ci, no maintence, nothing for 4 years. BIG mistake. Here it goes:

I asked for the VIN#, this is how he responded:
Eric, the vin# is WBAEH73495B191710.
If it’s ok with you, I suggest we proceed with the following arrangement, so we will both be protected.
- I will declare you as auction winner with ebay and they will provide you with the $50,000 vehicle purchase protection bond. You are not obligated in any way to buy the car if you are not satisfied with its condition.
- I will make the shipping arrangements right now and pay for shipping to your address as promised. The car will arrive in 6-7 days at your door. You will have 5 more days for a pre-purchase inspection period so you can test drive and check the car out
- meantime, the payment will stay secured with ebay purchase protection via wire transfer to their bank account. This is an insurance that you have the money.
- bare in mind I have no access to the payment until you register the car in your name.
- If for some reason you don’t like the car’s condition, you will get a full refund from ebay
If you agree to buy the car within these terms, please send your full name, shipping address and phone# so I can register you the auction winner with ebay and start the shipping arrangements.
Thank you,
Thomas
