Classic eBay VPP Scam
I knew that a 2002 Toyota Camry for $3000 was too good to be true from the start. I decided to have a little fun with this scammer and get as much info from them as possible and send it along to the authorities. This is our correspondence after the initial ” no scratches, no dents” email from our scammer “Amanda Stuard”-

Hello again,
As I have promised in my previous email here are the complete steps of
this process :
-First I have to tell you that the payment process is being handled by
eBay VPP.
-The shipping process is being handled by D.A.S. I have already told you that the car is being deposited at the shipping company,
and they are waiting for me to give them the address of the buyer. The
car is located at eBay Center in San Jose CA. I will need the following details from you:
-full legal name ( For Title Transfer)
-billing address
-shipping address (if it is different than the billing one).
-Phone #
I will contact eBay, and give them the details of the buyer (your
details). eBay will send you an invoice with the instructions on how to complete the deal (details about shipping and payment). You will have 10 days testing period before you decide to buy.If you like
the vehicle and decide to buy, then you will contact eBay with your
decision so that I will be able to receive the money.
If you decide not to buy, you will also have to contact eBay and let
them know your decision so that you will receive the deposit money back. After you have your money back, then I will contact the shipping company to come take the car, but I assure you that you will love the car. Please email me the details that I need in order to start the
transaction.
Kind regards!

Billing Address- 2xxxxxxxxxxx North East,Maryland 21901 (state police)
Shipping Address- same as above

I hope that I did not jeopardize my opportunity in receiving this
outstanding vehicle. Once again, if you need my credit card information, my social security number or my checking account info let me know, I will be more than happy to give it to you so that I can get this fine motor vehicle.

Hi Ima,
Thank you for getting back to me in such short notice with the required information. In the next hours, eBay VPP will contact you with all the informations about this transaction.
Due to the strict policies of webmaster SPAM filters, you may not receive the instructions from them in your Inbox. Please check your SPAM, BULK or JUNK folder too in order to complete the transaction.
Let me know when you receive the invoice page from eBay VPP!
Best Regards!

Dear Amanda,
After careful consideration I decided not to make a payment via moneygram.I am not familiar with this company and I am a little uncomfortable sending money through them. But I do feel comfortable dealing with you so I have decided to send payment directly to you at the address listed on the eBay invoice. I have sent a certified bank check for $3000 to the following address-
Amanda Stuard
West 186 Fleet Street
Ashford, United Kingdom CH1 2LY
Please contact me when you receive payment. Once you receive payment then you can advise me how you want to proceed with the vehicle delivery.
Love,
Ima Moron

Amanda-
The deal was never on. You obviously thought I was serious in dealing with you. I knew from the start that you were scamming me. I have forwarded all of our correspondence to federal authorities and they were quite happy with the information that you provided. Good luck with that.
After this email our scammer decided to end the transaction. The person listed as the eBay VPP is..
Kyle Olson
2145 Hamilton Ave
Chester, U.K LU9 5KN
Hope this helps somebody…

WOW, it’s sad that we have to have our guard up at all times. I too began dealing with a Margaret Campbell on a vehicle that was too good to be true. She stated that she now works on a cruise ship as a casino dealer so can’t enjoy her 2007 Acura MDX with 12,800 miles on it. She insisted on using eBay VPP. I commented that the eBay VPP only protects and deal with vehicles purchased on their auction site. She replied with “I auctioned my vehicle with them and it has ended”. I spoke with eBay and they said, “run away from her.” They do not deal with people once the auction has ended and couldn’t find her auction anywhere. What a sad world we live in.

I was almost taken in by the very same scammer. I responded to an advertisement at www.autotrader.ca for a $5000 2006 Honda Civic.
Here’s the link:

When I contacted the seller, I received correspondence from “Amanda Stuard”. I was suspicious so I checked the name in Facebook which is where I found the link to this site. Thanks for your diligence; you saved me $5000.
